Description

Cambridgeshire County Council is looking to appoint an organisation to administer a mentoring project for care experienced young people, 18+, in or on the border of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, for two years. The organisation will recruit and train volunteer mentors from a range of backgrounds. The organisation will help to prepare care experienced young people and support both mentor and mentee throughout the scheme. The organisation will oversee the relationship between mentor and mentee, and it will have the skills and experience to help support the relationship if it encounters difficulties and provide contingency plans. The organisation will use distance travelled tools/goal setting tools to monitor the progress made in the mentoring relationship and report them back to Cambridgeshire County Council at regular intervals. The main outcomes will be led by the mentees and will focus primarily around attaining and sustaining Education, Employment or Training and also other defined personal goals, such as confidence or basic financial skills. The mentoring relationships will be in addition to and separate from the work of other professionals that work with that young person and the mentoring relationship will be confidential.
