Description

Home care and support services are commissioned for people who need support to maintain an acceptable level of health, hygiene, dignity, safety and ease in their home. In partnership with CCGs, the Council is committed to commissioning high-quality personal care and support services for people who are assessed as being in need of a service to enable them to remain living in their own home. The Council remains an important purchaser in the borough, able to provide intelligence, stability and volume of work to the care and support market. We want Reading's care and support market to offer high quality, enable people to take control of their own health, wellbeing and care and define and achieve their outcomes safely and independently. The Council has supported the development of home care services in order to realise its vision that there should be a range of care and support options available to people living in its community. The development of these options maximises their ability to live independently for as long as possible, and prevents their inappropriate admission into long-term residential care or hospital.

This procurement aims to establish a multiple supplier framework agreement for the provision of these services.
