Description

Recycled Plastic for Access Boardwalk.

The 1.2m wide Boardwalk will be approximately 215 metres long with a handrail (with FSC Approved Softwood rails) on one side mostly and our design estimates the following quantities of materials below will be required. We have included generous allowances for surplus materials in the estimates as ground conditions do vary.

The design is based on using recycled lumber and low slip potential boards as it will be in an intertidal zone. The boardwalk level will be above the normal tidal range and should not be covered. The design includes 3 stringer rails sat on bearers attached to 100mm x 100mm posts. Stainless Steel fixings are to be used.

Materials will need to be delivered to our Egmere Depot Post Code NR22 6BD which is approximately 4 Miles from Wells Next the Sea in Norfolk. We are looking at a starting date in late February 2020. Deliveries can be staged, however, the Posts for the Frames will be needed before the commencement of works.

Please note all dimensions in millimetres

Posts: 100x100x2000 = 230 (includes 25% surplus)
100x100x1000 = 210 (includes 10% surplus)

Bearers 100x50x1200 = 330 (includes 20% surplus)

Stringers 100x50x2400 = 330 (includes 20% surplus)

Boards 150x38x1200 = 1610 (includes 10% surplus)
