Description
The works involved are the creation of a surfaced path from Methley Bridge to Fairies Hill Lock as part of the wider Castleford to Wakefield Greenway project. It runs along the south bank of the River Calder, involves upgrading of a footpath and access road where existing and creation of a path in other locations. It also includes ramped links up to the cycleway to be created along the old Methley Lines alignment (Castleford Greenway extension). The route will be constructed in line with the latest Sustrans guidance and will enable people to walk and cycle year round
