Description
Southend on Sea Borough Council is carrying out this procurement exercise in the form of an Open tender and is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors to carry out the Design and Build for the Construction at Saxon Gardens, Southend on Sea of 2 no 4-bed homes and 2 no 2-bed homes by Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) that will include the following:
The proposed works are to design and construct new homes on 2 sites at Saxon Gardens which includes the following:
• Saxon Gardens Site A - Garage Site: 2 no 4 Bed homes SS3 9PX
• Saxon .Gardens Site B - Railway Site: 2 no 2 Bed homes SS3 9PW
• Communal facilities including a lounge, dining area and kitchen for residents
• Communal visitor WC
• Bicycle Storage
• Bin Storage collection points and storage
• Parking to Planning requirements
• Any Wheelchair requirement in line with planning requirements.
• Landscaping to planning requirements
• Access roads: including any S278 requirements.
• Utility connections, and
• Boundary Enclosure and fencing including a fence between the allotments and Site b with new access gate to the allotments.
The proposals are to use MMC and this should form the basis of the contractor's proposals; the contractor will be required to demonstrate the benefits in improvement to the construction programme from the MMC (compared to traditional build) as set out in the tender documents.
