Description
Islington Council is seeking to procure all-age home and community support services and day opportunities for people with disabilities.
Our vision is to increase the range of local options available to children, young people and adults when they are choosing a support service or day opportunity. We also want to develop an offer that spans children's and adult services; facilitating consistency during transition points in peoples' lives.
We recognise gaps in local provision in relation to managing the most complex needs and challenging behaviours, as well as for some types of specialist support e.g. high-functioning autism.
To clarify our definition of local day opportunities: providers will be expected to have activity bases in Islington or within a suitable distance to minimise transport time and cost.
The service will be procured via a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS). This involves creating an initial framework of providers, which can be added to during the lifetime of the DPS.
