VRU - Evaluation Partner for the Inclusive and Nurturing Schools Programme
The London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is tendering for a Evaluation Partner for its Inclusive and Nurturing Schools (INS) programme.
The VRU is seeking an Evaluation Partner to design and deliver a high-quality evaluation to explore the impact of the INS programme against its desired outcomes.
Core capabilities of the Provider:
• Capacity, experience, and expertise to lead evaluation programmes that will incorporate a range of stakeholders and partners at strategic and operational levels
• Knowledge of and experience working within the UK education landscape, including working with primary, secondary and SEND schools
• Experience measuring the impact of education programmes and interventions
• Experience of and capacity to work on learning and evaluation projects across several sites simultaneously
• Experience of working with diverse groups of children and young people and their parents/carers
• Capacity to meet the stated timeframes through having a team of existing, appropriately skilled, qualified, and resourced staff in place
• Expertise and capacity to deliver longitudinal research
• An understanding of the Public Health Approach to violence reduction and prevention
• Strong data analysis and using data insights to influence key stakeholders
• Strong data protection systems and processes
Background information on the current INS Programme;
In Spring 2022, the VRU commissioned the INS programme, which aims to reduce unnecessary school exclusions and ensure pupils have healthy relationship behaviours and attitudes. After a competitive tender process the VRU appointed a consortium of two charitable organisations to deliver this programme: Tender Education and Arts and Nurtureuk.
It is being delivered in 70 schools across seven London Boroughs: Barking and Dagenham, Croydon, Enfield, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, and Islington.
The innovative aspect of the INS programme is in the joining up of nurture approaches and high-quality healthy relationships education. All 70 schools will receive both strands of the INS programme over the programme period and the anticipation is that increased awareness and changing practice within the schools will result in a reduction in school suspensions and exclusions.
