Description

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is seeking to commission to undertake
research services on behalf of the Marine Management Organisation.
The overall aim of the project is to carry out an evaluation of control and enforcement activities undertaken
by the MMO relating to fisheries regulations. In order to understand what the additional resources are
delivering, the evaluation will need to assess existing control and enforcement activity. A third area is to
develop an understanding of compliance with fishing regulations.
The task is to deliver an evaluation of control and enforcement activity delivered by the MMO mainly
focusing on the period from April 2019 to March 2020. The scope of the evaluation is all MMO fisheries
regulatory activity which takes place within the English Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) including both the UK
