Description

Businesses registered in Kent have been severely impacted by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many businesses have been shut for a significant period but since the Government's announcement on the 22nd February (Roadmap out of Lockdown), will be turning their attention to reopening their business to the public once again.

Kent County Council are keen to support organisations registered in Kent to assess and understand their obligations and risks in relation to Covid-19 transmission. This will enable them to reopen in a safe way that not only protects the public but also employees of organisations and will reduce the chance of transmission and/or outbreaks of Covid-19. From pre-procurement analysis, the need for support will be greatest amongst small and micro businesses and not for profit organisations who may lack the cash flow to invest in training but who also are often delivering services in high contact, public facing areas.

Kent County Council has received emergency grant funding from central government under the Contain Outbreak Management Fund (COMF) to be used for immediate schemes and initiatives that help to reduce the spread of coronavirus and support local public health. This contract will be funded using the COMF grant monies.

The overarching aim of the Covid Business Advice service will be to upskill and provide tools to small and micro businesses and not for profit organisations to understand their risks and obligations in relation to preventing the spread of Covid-19. From their risk assessments organisations will be able to identify the measures they may need to implement to help prevent the spread of the virus.
This opportunity is advertised on the Kent Business Portal - www.kentbusinessportal.org.uk
