Description

The ONS is looking to explore alternative data sources that can be used to streamline our current processes. The aim is to utilise a single data source (database) rather than conducting the current scrutiny process across multiple media sources. If a suitable and reliable database can be found that meets the Economic Statistics list of requirements then the ONS would look to utilise this.
ONS requires Suppliers to provide full access to a web-based portal database or website service for three or more ONS users, to provide access to a data series that offer ONS the capacity to have a better understanding of the state of the UK and global economy, allowing us to engage with economists and economics reporters on news, data and analysis.
Timely analysis of essential data and economic events as they unfold are useful tools for ONS as producer of economic statistics. These analyses include but are not limited to macroeconomic research that includes previews of major data releases; reactions to official estimates; forecasts and predictions of official data; external market surveys and indices; country primers; regional briefing.
