Description

Lambeth Council is seeking a supplier to provide bike markets in schools, at events and public markets throughout the borough to sell refurbished second hand bikes. The events allow parents, teachers and the general public (at public events) to buy a second-hand bike or bring one to be sold. The cost of bikes sold for a member of the public will be passed to the person selling, a portion of this can be taken by the potential supplier if the bike is not sold at that event and needs to be transported to the next one.

The potential supplier should be able to provide the full service. This includes:

-Contacting schools and working with school staff to advertise the event, organise the space at the school and have a system for pre-orders from parents and teachers.

- For a public event organise event permits, access to the space, advertising and pre-orders.

- Transport of all the event elements on the day including all the bikes to be sold - pre-orders and a range of other bikes for passers-by, a marquee, signage etc.

- Staff to run the event (DBS checked)

- A mechanic on hand to check bikes for roadworthiness and fix up before selling on.

- A system to effectively take money and pay money to the people bringing in bikes.

- A clear website explaining the process and allowing people to make orders in advance of the events.

- All activity is to be GDPR compliant

Potential suppliers are required to outline their plan to provide the services above, including any social value that can be added.

Due to uncertainty around funding over the 3 years of this contract, it is important that the supplier can price these elements as a single unit and be aware that booking of the events will be dependent on funding at the time. As this is the case, please provide a cost for:

• A single school bike market
• A single public bike market for a half day event
• A single public bike market for a full day event

Please also state the percentage of a sale that would be taken if the bike were not sold at the event it was brought to.
