Brief description:

We are looking for people with the drive and ambition to make Sandwell's Vision 2030 a reality.
Civic & Member Services is a fast-paced area of work and you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of complex and comprehensive duties to and on behalf of all Elected Members.
You will be required to provide a wide and various range of administrative duties that effectively supports all Elected Members during their term of office efficiently.
Duties will include providing technical, developmental, administrative advice, guidance and support that meets the challenges of being an elected member.
You will be required to support all aspects of the Civic and Member Services functions that meets their obligations and objectives.
Previous experience of working with Elected Members would be preferable but is not essential.
You will play a critical role working on high-profile service specific projects, directly supporting the successful delivery of the Law and Governance Business Plan.
You must be a team player that is used to dealing with high volumes of work and used to working under pressure to tight deadlines. In return you will receive a range of employee benefits including flexible working.
Due to the current pandemic, the team are working from home with time in the office as and when required. The situation is kept under review in line with Covid-19 guidance.

What do we need from the applicant?
o Past working experience in a Local Authority/public sector environment, particularly Democratic Services, would be advantageous.
o Experience of use of financial systems.
o Attention to detail and well-organised.
o Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing circumstances.
o Experience of ICT, manual systems Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, Publisher and Outlook, and multimedia equipment to support the delivery of services in an accurate and timely way.
o Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Please note;
Due to the nature of this role you must be prepared to occasionally work outside of regular office hours.
This is a full-time role however, we will consider candidates interested in job share or part time hours.
