Description

West Yorkshire Combined Authority intends to procure further coverage of NGA broadband infrastructure capable of delivering download speeds of at least 30 megabits per second (Mbps) in areas within its Programme Area where such broadband is currently unavailable, by January 2020. Geographically, the procurement/project covers the five West Yorkshire local authorities of Leeds, Bradford, Calderdale, Wakefield and Kirklees and the City of York. There may also be an opportunity to utilise additional gain-share from the previous broadband contracts estimated to be up to £3.6m. In total public funding of up to £13.642m may be committed via the forthcoming procurement.
