Description

To provide Security Services on behalf of the University of Birmingham

The University of Birmingham invites tenders for the supply of Temporary Security Officers.

Tenderers will be required to supplement and/or increase the University's in-house security team where it is not possible for the in-house team to cover/support. Duties may include operational tasks such as guarding of key or vulnerable areas, access control, crowd control or patrolling a section of the campus, and additionally event management.

Radio communication with the control room is a key requirement with the ability to use a radio according to standard radio protocols, to act on information received and to pass accurate information to the Control Room as well as the ability of recording information accurately in written format.

Security Staff will be required to dress smartly and wear PPE including approved high visibility clothing commensurate with security duties. Also, Security Staff will be required to have excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to deal with conflict effectively during situations where tension may be evident.

Subject to the provisions of the Framework Agreement, the University will place an Agreement for a period of two (2) years with the option to extend for a further two (2) years up to a maximum of four (4) years, subject to annual reviews and performance monitoring of the service provided.
