Description

The University has a requirement for the purchase of equipment for measuring thrust output of drone or RC plane motors and propellors, and equipment for measuring thrust and balance across multi motor aircraft, as per the following technical requirements: Equipment for measuring thrust output of drone or RC plane motors and propellors; • The equipment needs to allow the universal mounting of different drone motors. • Measure at least 5 kgf of thrust and 2 Nm of torque. • A clear digital display of the following parameters (display can be either built in or utilise a PC or laptop and software) o Thrust o Torque o RPM o Derived motor efficiency • It should be possible to store and export data. • The equipment should be able to operate both manually as well as run automated tests such as a step or ramp test. Equipment for measuring thrust and balance across multi motor aircraft; • The equipment needs to allow the universal mounting of different drone motors. With a minimum of 4 motors to be tested simultaneously. • It must be possible to mount the motors in different configurations simulating different layouts seen in aircraft. • Measure at least 10 kgf of thrust and 6 Nm of torque. • A clear digital display of the following parameters (display can be either built in or utilise a PC or laptop and software) o Thrust o Torque o RPM o Derived motor efficiency • It should be possible to store and export data. • The equipment should be able to operate both manually as well as run automated tests such as a step or ramp test.
