Description
This support aims to
• Improves a child's wellbeing, resilience and long term outcomes
• Uses an evidenced based delivery model
• Develops and communicates a clear referral process with schools and provides a timely response to intervention in and out of term time.
• Tackles the root causes of children's low level emotional wellbeing which has a negative impact on attainment, behaviour and attendance.
• Works in partnership with parents/carers and schools to address the immediate needs of children in the short term to develop skills and coping strategies for the long term.
• Supports a whole school approach to well being and delivers training to teaching staff, group sessions and whole class assemblies.
• Becomes a conduit between school, home and child and sign post to other community activities which support a child's wellbeing and increases their positive participation in the community.
• Contributes to local intelligence by working with multiagency teams to identify themes, risks and behaviours which have a negative impact on the wider detriments of the child's and the communities well being.
• Measures baselines, progress and outcomes in a way which tracks the journey of the child and also contributes to population data
• Contributes to a child's Early Help Assessment and develops exit strategies to ensure schools and parents are able to maintain wellbeing
• Offers advice and support to school staff with strategies for a child in the classroom.
• Understands and complements the existing emotional well pathway which may require referral to or exit from Tier 3 & 4 provision.
• Maintains accurate, objective and thorough records on all interventions undertaken.
• Respects confidentiality at all times
• Follow SSCB safeguarding procedures and protocols.
• Contributes to a reduction in the demand for Camhs provision and referrals to other statutory or specialist services.
