Description

The Council invites quotations for the provision of wider determinants of health training and Health Impact Assessment (HIA) training for staff within the Authority, and for HIA evaluation training for select staff and Members.

The Public Health Directorate is developing a Health in All Policies Toolkit that can be used to assess the health impacts of new and revised policies, strategies, plans, projects and procedures such that these impacts can be included for consideration in Business Cases and Committee Reports. To roll this out, policymakers in all Directorates will require a base level of knowledge of the wider determinants of health to allow them to evaluate their own proposals from a perspective of health and health equity; as such, we are seeking training for all staff with decision-making responsibilities to assess health implications of their proposals, alongside training on evaluating these assessments for relevant staff, and how to perform participatory assessments for more complex proposals.
