Description

The works to be provided under this contract are:

Category Survey Description
Vegetation Clearance Vegetation clearance to enable features to be accurately surveyed by other disciplines. This will be carried out under a different contract running concurrently. There may be a need for the contractor to carry out some localised vegetation clearance
Electrical Testing Full electrical test and condition reports for all assets from identified feeder pillars.
Column Structural Testing All street lighting columns to be structurally tested by means of material thickness test.
Reverse Engineering EN40 calculations Following the column structural testing the contractor shall carry out reverse engineering to determine the suitability for replacement lanterns.
Duct and Chamber Survey To determine the suitability of existing duct and draw pit chambers for use on future scheme upgrades.
Trial Holes or Slot trenches and WAC testing Trial holes to locate existing road crossings and coincide with the duct survey. Waste acceptance testing to ensure waste is catergorised for removal to landfill
Asbestos Survey and Testing Sample test shall be carried out to determine if asbestos is present in existing materials
Pavement Investigation (Core samples) To identify cross sectional build up of the carriageway

1.3 Deliverables
1.3.1 The Contractor is required to produce the following deliverables:

(1) An appropriate individual to attend pre-commencement site inspection & client meeting.
(2) A method statement, programme of works, H&S plan including risk assessment, contractors offer signed, completed price list, completed form of tender and insurance documents for the survey shall be submitted.
(3) The contractor is to provide all the necessary plant equipment, materials and labour to carry out all surveys to enable features to be accurately surveyed. Additionally, the Contractor to liaise with Topographical survey contractor to ensure site clearance requirements for access are met to carry out street lighting column inspections and draw pit chamber inspections.
(4) The contractor to provide all the necessary plant, materials & labour to carry out all surveys on site for the timings as stated in section 3 and specification as stated in section 6.
(5) All reports including detailed drawings in CAD format, site photos as detailed in section 6 are to be submitted within 2 weeks of works being completed on site.
