Description

The UCL Department of Physics and Astronomy requires a large Telescope, as fully described in Schedule 1 of this tender. The New Telescope will be the largest reflective telescope present at the Observatory and will be assembled in the Wilson Building. The large primary size (80cm) will provide a higher rate of light input than all the existing units. At the same time a dual Nasmyth focus will allow the installation of two separate instruments which will benefit from this telescope. The budget for this tender is 272K. Suppliers that provide tender responses above this budget limited will have their offers rejected. The specification detailing UCL's full requirements is set out in Schedule 4 (Specification) and should be read before Bidders begin to respond to this ITT.
