Description
The purpose of the JET Decommissioning and Repurposing (JDR) programme is to deliver the safe decommissioning and repurposing of the JET facilities in an ethical, innovative manner, demonstrating maximum value for money. JDR is organised into a variety of projects, each delivering an agreed part of the overall technical scope required to deliver the programme. JET deploys a remote handling system for the maintenance and upgrade of the tokamak. A test stand is required to provide the necessary functionality to allow existing devices, the 3rd Arm and winch, to be load tested in conformance with relevant test plans and operation manuals for the purpose of regulatory compliance. Both devices are attachments, mechanically mounted to a common bolt hole pattern on the chest plate of the MASCOT remote manipulator.
