Description

The requirement is for an internal mail service to transfer documentation, evidential samples, discs of CCTV, and low value items between sites, ranging from small envelopes to large crates, and include over 10,000 tracked items.
Because of the nature of BTP's premises, it is not possible to make deliveries/collections directly into every site; the service provider is required to make available secure locations for these sites to access and use.
Service provision includes collection and delivery of items meeting the following criteria:
• Up to 2000g (2kg) in weight;
• Up to 450mm x 350mm x 80 mm in size;
• Unsorted; and
• Non-Machinable

There may be a requirement for the collection and delivery for items of greater size and/or weight, but these are to be considered ad hoc (additional requirements)

Collection and Delivery shall take place outside of office hours (before 09.00, after 17.00), and delivered next working day.
Due to the sensitivity of the items transported a closed delivery network is required - management of the items remains solely with the provider from collection to delivery, and they are not passed onto a third party.

The Supplier shall provide the Authority with the necessary equipment and consumables required to use the Service correctly and to meet the Supplier's conditions of carriage.

Such equipment and consumables may include but be not limited to:
• Necessary software (including installation, training, and de-commissioning)
• Label printers (including associated cables, power supply unit, installation, and decommissioning)
• Associated consumables, including but not limited to labels, Mail bags/ trays, bag ties, manifest templates, and Mailboxes.
