Description

The Public Health Division in Birmingham City Council is looking to improve the understanding of the health requirements of Birmingham's diverse communities. As part of this work, a series of evidence summaries are being produced to improve the awareness of these communities and their needs. These have been titled 'Community Health Profiles.' Community Health Profiles support two of Birmingham City Council's Social Policy Aims:

1) Birmingham is a great city to live in
2) Birmingham is a fulfilling city to age well in.

Information from the Community Health Profiles will be collated and presented under the 10 key priority areas identified in the Health and Wellbeing Strategy for Birmingham 2021. Additionally, the Community Health Profiles will be promoted for Local Authority and wider system use for community and service development. The insight and understanding from the Community Health Profiles can therefore be used to influence decision making across Birmingham to reduce and improve health inequalities experienced by our citizens.

We are seeking to commission 10 Community Health Profiles in a selection of 10 identified community groups within Birmingham. The 10 selected communities are:

Lot A - Kenya
Lot B - Nigeria
Lot C - Somalia
Lot D - India
Lot E - Pakistan
Lot F - Caribbean Commonwealth Member States
Lot G - Pacific Island Commonwealth Member States
Lot H - Sight Loss
Lot I - Trans
Lot J - Islam
