Description

To deliver the International Cooperative Programme on Vegetation to the UNECE's Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) and provide statutory air pollution impacts data for the UK under the National Emissions Ceilings Regulations (NECR) 2018. This work contributes to the UK's influence on the development and implementation of the Convention's multilateral environmental protocols, with specific focus on providing scientific evidence for, and quantifying the risks associated with, the effects of air pollution on natural capital including biodiversity, food and timber production. The Programme also contributes to assessments of the co-benefits of air pollution and climate change abatement policies, and the impacts these have on UK habitats and farming areas.
