Description

The Active Access for Growth - East Sussex Programme is looking to deliver a comprehensive package of cycling and walking initiatives, which will provide longer term behaviour change towards sustainable modes of travel across our three key growth areas of Newhaven, Eastbourne, South Wealden and Bexhill/Hastings.

ESCC has secured over £22m of Local Growth Funding from the South East Local Enterprise Partnership, to deliver improved and new walking & cycling infrastructure across the growth areas within the next five years. To maximise this investment the delivery of the cycling and walking initiatives will need to complement the delivery of this package.

East Sussex County Council (ESCC) has been successful in securing funding from the Department for Transport's Access Fund to enable the delivery of cycling and walking initiatives during the programme period.

The key requirements of this commission include:-

1.To provide programme management to East Sussex - Active Access for Growth
2.Deliver a number of cycling and walking initiatives

To enable the delivery of these requirements, ESCC is looking for a transport consultancy or a national sustainable transport charity, which can demonstrate knowledge and experiencing of delivering similar programmes of work.

The contract period will run from 1st June 2017, at the earliest, but this will be dependent on the outcome of the pre-qualification questionnaire and the number of responses received. The contract will run until 31st March 2020, which is when the DfT Access grant funding is required to be spent.
