Description

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is looking for a contractor to undertake scrub control in roughly 5 hectares of a 110 hectare heathland site.
Scrub control is to be carried out over the late autumn / winter months.
Araisings are to be burnt on-site on sheets of metal. Remaining ash from fire is to be removed.
The scrub is roughly 15-year old birch, so the work will need to be done by hand as too large for flailing.
Stumps are to be painted with a suitable herbicide to prevent re-growth.
The site is wet, so vehicle access is limited.
The site is a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Staffordshire Wildlife Trust will be responsible for Natural England consent.
