Description

Leicester City Council organises or supports several major public events each year. These range from regular annual events like Diwali to one-off events like the Queen's Maundy visit, the Leicester City Football Club Victory Parade and the King Richard III Reinterment event. In addition, the council is called upon to respond to significant emergencies like large fires in its capacity as a Category One Responder under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004. This could involve participation in a major incident response and the management of several different council services deployed at various locations in and around the scene as well as humanitarian support facilities elsewhere. Leicester City Council is seeking an Incident Management System to effectively manage and co-ordinate such events.
