Description

Birmingham City Council is seeking to promote regeneration throughout the City and to promote not only the economic but also social and environmental well-being of its area. As part of this process there is provision of Open Air Cinema at Selected Parks within the City (Appendix 1). The Framework Agreement(s) will commence early in 2019 for a period of 4 years.

Birmingham is renowned for being a green city, with numerous parks, areas of open space & open water; where people can be active and enjoy the great outdoors. The City Council wishes to engage with experienced organisations or individuals with the relevant and appropriate experience to submit business plans and ideas to generate income from the identified parks.

The Council does not guarantee exclusivity for any operator or operation as a result of this procurement, although it will be mindful of existing operations when assessing/authorising anything in the future. Any future approvals will seek to complement existing operations rather than directly compete with.

Bidders should note that if successful all costs connected with establishing and running their business e.g. planning permission, building regs, power & water will be the responsibility of the Provider.

The Council requests all Providers to choose from the selected parks (no limit on number of parks selected) and outline their proposals for events in 2019/2020:
- Films screening & timings
- Admission numbers & ticket financials - estimated capacity for the proposed site
- Proposed on site entertainment & any retail
- Logistics & associated costs e.g. portaloo hire, barriers, insurance
- Outline marketing plan
