Description

A customised readout board is required to readout 2 HEXITEC ASICs with CdTe based X-ray detectors. The readout board must:
• provide the 13 digital input clocks at 21.25MHz to program and readout the 2 ASICs simultaneously
• take the 8 analogue outputs with a voltage magnitude of 1.0V in the range of 0.5V to 2V at 21.25MHz
• automatically calculate the offset level per pixel and subtract the offset per pixel in real time
• output the data with 16bit precision from the 2 ASICs via LVDS with no more than 10LVDS pairs per board
• be triggered by software command or TTL trigger inputs
• have control signal input and environmental data output via UART
• temperature and humidity measurements must be made by components on the readout board
• provide low noise analogue power at 1.65V and 3.3V with a consumption of 0.2A and 0.5A per ASIC respectively
• operate from a single 12V power input
• route a high voltage line capable of withstanding a 1kV applied voltage
• align to a 34-way pin header per ASIC module with an accuracy of better than 10um to enable tiling of the 20.35x20.45mm modules to less than 50µm accuracy
• have a total width less than that of the two ASIC modules side by side (
