Description

Supporting the National Dementia Strategy through Workforce Development in
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland

This process aims to source a quality provider of this development activity for a period of up to four years, to be reviewed every twelve months. For the avoidance of doubt the continuation of this service will be dependent on funding made available to the Council on an annual basis.
The purpose of this process is to find the most suitable supplier for delivery of Categories B and C. Bidders should note that there are three categories to the specification of requirement for development provider but that Category A is included here for information only. Category A is currently delivered via an e-learning tool hosted by Leicestershire County Council and is therefore not part of the specification. As such it is important to note that the desired solution should not be technology based (e-learning). Rather the solution is specified as classroom based learning. Technology based proposals will not be accepted.

Bidders are asked to provide a response and price for categories B and C only which Leicestershire County Council would like to be delivered by the same provider. For this reason the evaluation of bids will be for both Category B & C.
The Specification details the Dementia Workforce Categories Framework. Category A - Basic Awareness Training is currently delivered via e-learning and does not form part of this requirement. It is included here for information purposes only.
It is proposed that the requirements for Categories B and C are met by developing and delivering a three stage programme for delegates consisting of:
o Category B ? Enhanced Training: This element of the requirement is delivered via a 1 day session delivered approximately 14 times a year. We are looking to maintain a similar delivery model and frequency of delivery. Each session must be able to accommodate up to 20 staff.
o Category C ? Specialist Learning: This is a very specialist requirement which needs to consider both the medical care model and social care model and how these combine and support each other. It is delivered as a 2 day course with an opportunity to action plan between each days so the course will not run on concurrent days. Each session must be able to accommodate 20 staff.
