Description
***Please note this is an award notice, not a call for competition*** UK Research and Innovation had a requirement for;
To develop a clear understanding of what pressures and incentives in the research system affect research behaviour, how they affect such behaviour in the context of research integrity and more broadly, and to what extent they are considered positive or negative incentives by the range of stakeholders and different groups within the UK research system.
The evidence and analysis within this piece of work will enable UKRI to assess where adjustments or counterbalances may be required within the research system to better support research integrity and to foster a positive research culture more broadly.
The objectives of this work are to:
• Review extant literature, data and analysis to develop a methodology for further data collection and analysis as well as to propose conclusions based on synthesised evidence.
• Gather further data to identify incentives in the research system, their effect on researcher behaviour and institutional practices, and how these incentives are perceived by different stakeholders.
• Analyse evidence on incentives in the research system, their effect on research behaviour and institutional practices, and how these incentives are perceived by different stakeholders.
• Deliver a full and comprehensive evidence base and analysis in a final report.
