Description
The Client, Wolverhampton City Council (WCC) is delivering new council housing developments across the City. The client intends to bring forward one site within the Heath Town Project for the development of up to twelve houses on a Community Design and Build type basis generating strong Social Value contributions to the regeneration of the area. Wolverhampton Homes (WH) is an Arm's Length Management Organisation (ALMO), wholly owned by the WCC and will be acting as the Employers agent/representative in delivering this housing development collaboratively with the successful supplier as part of the overall Heath Town project. The site allocated for the Community led development site is situated on the larger Heath Town Development site, Inkerman Street, Wolverhampton and the proposal for the site is to provide up to a maximum of twelve two-bedroom semi-detached houses to meet the current housing needs required in that area of the City. The final detail of the number of properties and property types is to be agreed as part of the design process. The Successful Delivery Enterprise Supplier will be responsible to progress the scheme to full planning consent stage, manufacture of units if applicable, delivery on site if applicable, erection of units/construction through to practical completion and subsequent defects liability period promoting the use of local people playing a leading and lasting role in solving local housing problems, creating genuinely affordable homes and strong communities in ways that are difficult to achieve through mainstream housing. The proposed form of contract for this requirement will be the NEC Option C Target Cost based utilising an Activity Schedule and Tenderers are deemed to be familiar and have experience of using this form.
It should be noted it is the Council's intention that this requirement will be awarded to a single supplier who will work collaboratively with the client to successfully deliver the initiative.
