Description

Level 1 course in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment once a month and should be flexible to organise sessions at short notice. The organisation will also need to offer a through the gate service, ensuring all candidates will receive appointment letters before their release to receive employment support in the community. We are looking for an organisation who is able to start delivery of these courses as soon as possible, preferably with personnel who are already security cleared to work in the establishment.

The organisation will:

- Work in partnership with the Coordinator of the Community Chaplaincy mentoring programme;
- Promote the training opportunity within the establishment with partners and stakeholders within the establishment;
- Liaise with the different departments within the prison and establish clear referral networks;
- Check eligibility of referrals and maintain a list of interested prisoners;
- Carry out risk assessments on prisoners prior to their attendance;
- Engage with referred prisoners prior to the training to confirm interest and issue course materials;
- Ensure availability of training space;
- Complete and submit Unlock List;
- Ensure attendance of minimum 14 candidates per training (2 days);
- Tailor each course to accommodate all learning styles and individuals with learning disabilities;
- Provide training materials, laptops and projector;
- Deliver one day course Level 1 Health and Safety in a construction environment (AM and PM) - Day 1;
- Invigilate examination (AM) - Day 2;
- Deliver half a day CSCS test preparation training (PM) - Day 2;
- Communicate examination results to candidates and issue Certificates;
- Communicate with each candidate to schedule an appointment after release to offer through the gate support;
- Provide all candidates with the opportunity to undertake a CITB CSCS test on release;
- Prepare outcomes report and present it to the Reducing Reoffending team on a monthly basis.
