Description
Bidders are asked to submit a formal tender for crate making, transportation and storage of Objects listed in Appendix F. A range of crating solutions will be required including transit frames and full crates.
National Museums Liverpool is due to undergo a major project of roof work and gallery refurbishment to rooms 1 - 4 of the Walker Art Gallery. The schedule of works is due to commence in April 2020. Rooms 1 - 4 currently house collections including paintings, sculptures and decorative arts objects from the medieval, Baroque, late 17th Century and early 18th Century period.
Rooms 1 - 4 at the Walker Art Gallery are due to close to the public on 5th January 2020. Crates and transit frames are to be delivered to the Walker Art Gallery by 31st January 2020. NML will organise for technicians to pack the Objects and have them ready for collection by 2nd March 2020.
All Objects must be transported in accordance with the General transport conditions set out in Annex E of the UK Government Indemnity Scheme Guidelines for national institution.
Storage is required for an estimated 10 months and must comply with the general security and environmental conditions set out in Annex D of the UK Government Indemnity Scheme Guidelines for national institution.
Storage is required to the estimated date 25th January. At the end of the storage period the Objects are to be transported back to the Walker Art Gallery. This end date for storage may be subject to change and the bidder should allow some flexibility to extend the period of storage if required by NML.
