Description
Bedford Borough Council have received COMF funding from government to improve disabled children's access to sporting activities.
Participation in sport can have many positive outcomes for children, including improved physical and mental health, making friends and building confidence. However, many children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are unable to access mainstream clubs and activities due to their needs.
We want to engage with local disability sports clubs, or organisations interested in bidding for funding to widen their offer to provide more sporting opportunities SEND young people.
You are invited to a virtual engagement event to hear from key stakeholders and parent carers about local needs and gaps, and how to apply for funding. We want to hear your ideas on how to meet these needs, what your project has to offer and what YOU need from us to get it off the ground.
For further details and to register your attendance, please see EventBrite: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/bedford-borough-council-disability-sport-market-event-tickets-424168006927.
Please note, it will be a condition of funding that all projects become self-sustaining after the first year, so that our children and young people have continued access to good-quality, local sport and fitness provision.
