Description
The London Borough of Redbridge ("the Authority") invites Tenders from suitably qualified and experienced organisations for the Contract for Tall Buildings in Redbridge Evidence Base, London Borough of Redbridge ("the Contract").
The Contract will commence on 7th November 2016 and, subject to satisfactory performance, shall continue up to and including 31 January 2017 (the "Contract Period"). At the sole discretion of the Authority the Contract Period may be extended in such period or periods as the Authority deems appropriate up to a maximum of one (1) year, providing a possible total Contract Period to midnight on 31st January 2018.
London Borough of Redbridge is offering a fixed price contract, (payable in stages), following a competitive tendering process for a consultant to provide additional guidance to support the Council's evidence base in relation to tall buildings throughout the Borough. The aims of this commission are focussed around the vision of the draft Redbridge Local Plan.
The Council requires consultancy services to prepare technical evidence base to support the approach to tall buildings in the borough. The key objectives of the brief are:
To review, update and supplement the Councils approach to the development of tall buildings throughout the borough including:
Review of existing tall buildings designations for Ilford, Crossrail Corridor and Gants Hill and the continued appropriateness of these designations
Identification of areas (outside of those areas listed above) within which tall buildings would be considered appropriate.
Review the policy approach set out in draft policy LP27 Tall Buildings, including policy criteria for assessing applications for tall buildings
Identification and designation of key local viewpoints/vistas to be managed. Existing policy and supplementary guidance does not provide any designation of such viewpoints/vistas.
