Description

"Expertise in remote sensing / earth observation essential.

This project will explore how individual grassland habitat types (Acid, Calcareous and Neutral Grasslands and Improved Grassland) may be distinguished from each other using satellite imagery and how this can inform national-scale habitat mapping across England. This will use field collected habitat records and satellite imagery to explore differences in spectral signatures between the four broad grassland types, and how other environmental datasets or differences in seasonality may be used to distinguish these classes reliably. The contractor will be expected to produce a technical report documenting the statistical analysis
undertaken, methodological steps, key findings, limitations and recommendations, shapefile of classified grassland types, workflow scripts - annotated reproducible analytical pathways of workflow undertaken."
