Description
Cambridgeshire County Council intends to directly award a contract to Community Catalysts as sole provider of micro-enterprise development support services specifically geared towards the Care Market (with a focus on Home Care) after initial searches for similar providers failed to produce a viable alternative provider. The value of the contract is estimated to be £150k over two years. The successful provider will initially undertake a diagnostic of the most suitable geographical area for roll-out in Cambridgeshire and will be expected to support the development of successful micro-enterprises delivering at least 2,500 hours of care by the end of the second year. Support to be given to potential micro-entrepreneurs will include knowledge and awareness of best business practices as well as compliance with the Care Act 2014 and the 7 principles of Prevention, Personalisation, Partnership, Plurality, Protection, Productivity and People. Care Micro-Enterprises will be supported to offer person-centred, co-produced, place-based care and support both for self-funders and those with eligible care needs who access a personal budget via Direct Payments, but who prefer not to directly employ a Personal Assistant. For further information on this project, please contact graeme.hodgson@cambridgeshire.gov.uk by 5:00pm on Thursday 17th December 2020.
