Description
There is a requirement at the University of Nottingham (UON) within the Gas Turbine & Transmissions Research Centre (GTTRC) for a test facility with two independent drive shafts to test a variety of aero engine and advanced power transmissions based unit under test (UUT).
The facility design shall be of a modular nature to provide for the maximum flexibility in accommodating current and future test requirements.
The facility design should include the flexibility to allow future upgrading with minimum cost and effort. The future upgrades are likely to include an increase in speed for drive Module D2 (see Requirement TR00107-MD-02) and to accommodate different drive layout configurations with variable nominal heights by adding extra modular sub plinths e.g., TR00107-MD-06 The supplier should include in the bid explanation of how the enhancements will be catered for. It is desirable if the supplier could assess the cost of the upgrades.
The design, manufacture and commissioning of the elements (as defined by the invitation to tender) of this new test facility is to be performed by an external supplier and this document defines the tasks and conditions. It is to be appended to the purchase order and consists of 9 Articles which define in order:
Article 1: Facility requirements.
Article 2: The supplier's tasks and responsibilities.
Article 3: The services and equipment to be furnished by the UON.
Article 4: Documents to be delivered by the supplier.
Article 5: Criteria for UON acceptance of the completed work.
Article 6: Conditions of work on site.
Article 7: Health, safety and environmental requirements.
Article 8: Schedule of work.
Article 9: Quality plan.
