Description
Blackburn with Darwen has been a supporter of asylum and refugee communities for many years and is a pro-active member of both the regional strategic migration partnership (RSMP) and the RSMP Executive Board along with the Lancashire Refugee and Asylum Strategic partnership.
We have a collaborative approach to the support of asylum seekers and refugee's locally and sub-regionally. Including through the Lancashire Refugee and Asylum Strategic Partnership and BwD Asylum Seeker Multi Agency Forum.
Our approach applies across all asylum and refugee programme's as we look to maintain as higher degree of consistency as possible to all communities. We dovetail our approach across Homes4Ukraine, ARAP and other asylum and refugee programmes to provide a balanced approach.
Blackburn with Darwen would like to implement an Asylum Seeker Mental Health and Traum Project.
The aim of this commission is to develop a project focusing on trauma within the asylum community in Blackburn with Darwen.
