Description

NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (Arden & GEM CSU) on behalf of Southern Derbyshire Clinical Commissioning Group (SDCCG) and NHS England (North Midlands) is looking for providers who would be interested in tendering for a 12 month caretaking contract for a GP Surgery in Derby commencing 1st April 2017. Key points for consideration for interested providers are:- • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to mobilise to service provision within a short time frame. • Requires recruitment to GP positions as the two current partners are to resign and retire respectively. During the caretaking arrangement, it is envisaged that the long term future of the service will be determined through public consultation and, depending on the outcome of the consultation; a possible re-procurement will be undertaken.

The identified provider will have the option to continue to provide services from this premise and should note the premise is not part of the NHS estate. The practice was inspected by the CQC in December 2015 and was given an overall rating of "Requires Improvement". They also received a rating of Requires Improvement for the following areas: • Safe • Effective •Well- Led Please follow link to view the CQC Report: http://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-546246071. The practice was also re-inspected by CQC in November 2016 and requirement notices and enforcement actions were issued. Please follow link to the report. http://www.cqc.org.uk/sites/default/files/new_reports/AAAF9808.pdf. Due to the interim nature of this service, the practice will operate under an open list and with a minimum income guarantee based on the current list size.

The Commissioners are asking that all providers are able to answer 'yes' to the following questions before bidding for this opportunity: 1. Are you able to ensure the service will commence from 1st April 2017? 2. Do you have staffing capacity to delivery this service from 1st April 2017? 3. Do you have the ability to turn the practice around from one that requires improvement to a CQC inspection rating of "good"?

The Commissioners are asking that all providers have:- 1. CQC Inspection rating of Good or Outstanding. 2. Registered GPs x2 available to deliver this service from 1st April 2017.
