Description

The project aims to address defects identified through a condition survey to the Agricola Tower and Guard House of Chester Castle. Replacement of the flat lead roof to the Tower is required, in addition to provision of improved rainwater goods discharging from the Tower and Guard House. It is also expected to undertake a programme of masonry repairs and repairs to other identified condition defects at the same time to make best use of access.

The repairs are essential to ensure that the castle fabric will not deteriorate further. It is also the intention to increase visitor numbers to the castle which will be aided by these proposals.
