The University of Huddersfield has been awarded a grant from the European Regional Development Fund and Northern Powerhouse for a ?1.8 m project to establish a 'Smart Rolling Stock Maintenance Research Facility' (SRSMRF) over a 3-year period. The facility will carry out 4 workstreams:
o Maintenance automation and optimisation
o Maintenance depot digital twin
o RCM data processing and development
o Augmented Reality
