Description

1773/339/EML/NAMTEC/17 Heat Treatment Furnace

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a Heat Treatment Furnace on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Castings Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire.

Scope of Requirement:

The requirement is for a vacuum heat treatment furnace, which is able to heat treat components in titanium, nickel and iron based alloys, of up to 300 mm x 300 mm x 300 mm size, up to a maximum temperature of 1300 °C.
The vacuum heat treatment furnace must be capable of operating within the constraints of a class 4 furnace to SAE AMS 2750 and SAE AMS 2769 with Type B instrumentation.

All the equipment shall be surface mounted avoiding any special civil works.
The equipment supplied must be designed to be as economical to run as possible
Tenderers shall propose their best solution to address this specification of requirement.
