Description

Applications are invited to provide a generic educator module for primary care healthcare practitioners as part of the new HEE Educators in Primary Care Pathway Programme.
The Multi-professional Faculty Development team at HEE London & Kent, Surrey and Sussex have now developed a Pathway Programme that will provide clinicians with a flexible approach to training as an educator in the primary care setting. The new Pathway will:
* Ensure equitable access to high quality training opportunities across London,
* Increase training capacity in the primary care setting,
* Comprise of short modular programmes combining blended learning with face to face workshops and e-learning,
* Ensure the GMC requirements for the approval & accreditation of GP trainers are met effectively,
* Provide inter-professional faculty development learning courses,
* Include options for progressing to study with a university and competitive opportunities for consolidation into postgraduate certificate, diplomas and master's programmes relevant to healthcare professionals.
It is anticipated that stage 1 of the Pathway will comprise of an introduction to workplace learning and assessment module, that will form the foundation of the Pathway Programme. Once participants have completed this introductory module, additional (non-accredited) 'bolt-on' courses will be provided by HEE locally, to address specific educator needs and roles. A draft outline of the Pathway is included in Appendix A.
We are therefore seeking to commission a Higher Education Institution (HEI) to develop and deliver the foundation module (stage 1) of the Pathway Programme.
