Description
A significant amount of fuel will be utilised during the Eiffage Kier JV HS2 Main Civils Works, Lots C2 & C3 to support Earthwork and Engineering activity. To ensure that operations are not halted due to insufficient fuel availability, 6 locations have been identified to store fuel. These are in strategic locations across the 80km trace, at points of access/egress to the trace and secured by the EK Security Team. There are currently discussions to install at a 7th location, away from the trace but within an established EK compound in Oxfordshire.
The Eiffage Kier JV will require a fuel supply, bulk fuel storage facilities and a system to securely distribute the fuel via a forecourt. Storage should be above ground, however cost of burial and the maximisation of height, up to a maximum of 2 stories should also be considered due to space constraints. Each of the 6 sites has been allocated for the storage of up to 50,000L. Gas oil will make up the majority of the fuel storage requirement (c75%-80%), however there will be a requirement for the storage of DERV and a tank for AdBlue. There is currently no requirement to store any other type of fuel. The provider of this solution will be required to supply fuel and install all of the ancillaries that support a fuel storage installation, including bunding, distribution points and associated safety systems.
Supply of Fuel - 110-120 million litres
Supply & Installation of Bulk Fuel Storage Facilities £500-£1,000k
Site Distribution of Fuel £8-10 million
Duration: 4-5yrs (2020-2025)
