Description

London Academy of Excellence (LAE) is a state free school sixth form that opened in Newham in 2012 with a radical new plan to improve social mobility by tackling educational disadvantage. LAE, is free school sixth form with a diverse range of 480 students and 60 staff.

In just 7 short years, the Academy has rapidly gained a well-deserved local and national reputation as one of the UK's leading state sixth form providers, consistently achieving some of the best results, not just in London, but in the whole of the UK.

By combining outstanding teaching and a rigorous curriculum with enriching extra-curricular experiences and the expertise of some of Britain's leading independent schools, we aim to equip our students to compete for places at the country's best universities.

The tender project is seeking to appoint a supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the school facilities. The high quality service levels proposed should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff.

The basis and rationale that the client requires the successful supplier to operate to at all times, is being able to provide a school that is fit-for-purpose and that the supplier is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification.

The contract being tendered is for 2 years and 3 months in duration from 1.5.2020 until 31.8.2022 with the option to extend upon agreement with the school, for a further 2-year period. The contract will be fixed price in nature, with the supplier invoicing the client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis.

It should be noted that the successful supplier will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.

Current cleaning arrangement:

At present there are 8 cleaning staff employed at LAE where the structure is:

- 1 non working cleaning supervisor,

- 7 cleaning operatives (Ground, 1, 2, 3, 4, Agora, Toilet),

- there is a cleaner present in School during the day.

The current incumbent contractor is Birkin Cleaning Services.

None of the incumbent members of cleaning staff are members of the LGPS.

Please be advised that the client has a minimum requirement for a supplier's employers liability/public liability and professional indemnity insurance of 5 000 000 GBP.

The minimum annual turnover that your organisation must have achieved to be considered for this opportunity is 1 000 000 GBP.
