Description
Homestead Link Road (HLR) is the primary piece of highway infrastructure required to unlock the South West Rugby development - set to deliver circa 5,000 new homes, primary and secondary schools, a new neighbourhood centre, 35 hectares of employment land and green infrastructure.
The development is a significant investment for Homes England, who are working with Rugby Borough Council and partners to accelerate the delivery of homes, employment land and enabling infrastructure on the site.
A detailed planning application for the HLR was submitted to Rugby Borough Council in August 2022 and is still being considered by the Council (Application Ref: R22/0928).
The scope of works details:
• 2km of single lane carriageway;
• Works to existing side roads and tie-ins with A roads;
• Signalised junctions;
• Roundabouts;
• Footways and cycleways;
• Streetlighting, lining and signage;
• SUDS and balancing ponds;
• Utilities and services;
• Circa 180,000m2 of new public open space including soft landscaping and planting; and
• Accommodation works
Enabling works, comprising demolition, vegetation clearance and ecology works are also to be commissioned but this will be under a separate procurement exercise.
Homes England is seeking to appoint a construction partner to deliver this important piece of highway infrastructure and associated green infrastructure.
