Description

Brief Description of purchase:In 2014, HE funded a hydrological modelling project for the Flag Fen Basin to inform monument and
development management decision making for the site and its environs. This work identified a possible strategy that could increase the water levels in and around the site of Flag Fen, ensuring that the archaeological horizon was below the level of the water all year round. The current proposal would refine and expand this work in order to identify and assess options for
permanent rewetting of the archaeological deposits at Flag Fen.
