Description
Active Norfolk is seeking to appoint a contractor to design and build a bespoke peer-to-peer web directory to connect Norfolk residents with physical activity opportunities in a user-friendly way.
Active Norfolk is one of over 40 Active Partnerships covering England. The organisation aims to increase participation in sport and physical activity for Norfolk residents. We do this by providing information about local opportunities for individuals to get active, and provide support for clubs, volunteers and coaches.
It has become clear that in order to facilitate this role effectively and deliver the most effective project outcomes, an effective and relevant database of active opportunities within Norfolk will be an
invaluable tool.
The development of this initiative is in conjunction with several different projects coordinated by Norfolk County Council, including the MONUMENT project, which aims to provide active opportunities to carers of people living with dementia. As well as the Experience Project, which aims to boost experiential out-of-season tourism in Norfolk. The Activity Finder development will play a major role in achieving the desired outcomes for both projects.
Purpose of the Activity Finder:
The purpose of the activity finder site is to act as a hub for all active opportunities of all types across Norfolk. It will enable Norfolk residents to find ways to be active which suit them. This includes exercise classes, gyms and sports centres, green spaces, cycle trails and much more. The platform must be built in such a way that flexibility is a priority as activities is such a broad sector.
The beneficiaries of the activity finder are wide-ranging, including the general public who will benefit from an accurate and informative database of exercise opportunities.
Partnering organisations which Active Norfolk works with to deliver specific projects. As well as healthcare providers and social prescribers who will be able to use a trusted database with reviews, filters and kitemarking to recommend specific activities to
patients.
If interested in applying please email the named person in the contact details.

• To increase out of season tourism by promoting activities and facilities across Norfolk, in line with the aims of the EXPERIENCE project.
• To provide accessible activity opportunities for carers of people living with dementia, volunteer and referring professionals in line with the aims of the MONUMENT project.
• To bring together activity providers from across the county so they are all pulling in the same direction to change the way people in Norfolk get active.
• To provide clarity to partners and others on the role of Active Norfolk, with the Activity Finder sitting on a separate domain to act as the B2C offering, separate from the main AN website.
• To be a central database of self-directed activity opportunities, including green spaces and cycling trails.
• To offer partners and healthcare providers a dedicated database of active opportunities to aid projects and signpost to patients.
