Description

The Mayor of London's Violence Reduction Unit is seeking two partnerships with the relevant experience. In the context of early intervention and prevention, the VRU recognises the need to upskill teachers and staff working in schools and youth settings to better understand how to take a gendered approach, and recognises the need for safe spaces for girls and young women to access community-based support.
This Invitation to Tender sets out the Unit's plans to design and deliver an intensive training programme to support staff working in a school setting, as well as to develop and deliver a collaborative community-based support service from the perspective of a young woman

The aim of Lot 1 is to develop a training programme which upskills and increases teachers confidence to identify and deal with the early signs of vulnerability and risk for young women and girls, which in turn has a positive effect on engagement at school and wellbeing.

The aim of Lot 2 is to develop a community based support service which improves increases sector capacity to support a greater number of girls and young women with early vulnerabilities to access, navigate and engage in relevant services, gain specialist support and benefit from quality mentoring.

London's Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) has a focus on early intervention. Through adopting a contextual approach to violence reduction, the Unit has in place a range of programmes which are aimed to reduce risks faced by young Londoners; support them in staying safe and providing opportunities for young people to fulfil their potential.
